JAFFE PR’S MONICA SMITH ELECTED PRESIDENT OF LEGAL MARKETING ASSOCIATION’S SOUTHEASTERN CHAPTER

January 22, 2010 – Orlando, Fla. – Jaffe PR, the leading law firm Public Reputation specialist firm, is pleased to announce that Monica Smith, a senior account supervisor of Public Reputation Services, is president of the Legal Marketing Association’s (LMA) Southeastern Chapter. Smith, who is based in her hometown of Orlando, Fla., will serve nearly 500 members in the largest Chapter of the international organization of LMA for one year.

“Monica is truly one of the hardest-working and dedicated marketing professionals, with a strong commitment to her clients, her peers and her industry and as an influential and respected thought leader. We are proud that she will lead by her own example to help guide and shape the Southeastern chapter of the legal marketing industry’s most respected organization. We congratulate her and wish her a successful term,” said Liz Lindley, Sr. VP, Public Reputation Services of Jaffe PR.

Smith’s election follows a three-year-term on the LMA’s Southeastern Chapter board of directors. She also served on the leadership committee for the organization’s Orlando City Group from 2007-2009.

As a member of Jaffe’s Public Reputation Services group, Smith helps clients combine traditional media relations tools with the growing opportunities presented through Web 2.0, including blogs, social networking and other interactive, online elements to position attorneys in the news and before other key audiences. Having previously worked as an in-house law firm marketer, her background as a marketing generalist-turned-publicist gives her a unique perspective, approaching media relations with a keen eye for strategy. Smith’s efforts have placed clients in a range of media outlets, from national publications, to diverse trade papers, to local and regional print publications. She frequently writes and speaks on topics related to legal marketing and public reputation management, including the use of Web 2.0 tools to enhance a firm’s business development efforts.

The Legal Marketing Association (www.legalmarketing.org) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs and maintaining the professional standards of the men and women involved in marketing within the legal profession. The Southeastern Chapter serves members in 10 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
