As a vice president in Jaffe PR’s Public Reputation Group, Michelle specializes in raising the visibility of law firms through strategic media relations campaigns. While Michelle has worked with many of the industry's leading national and mid-sized law firms, she is best known for understanding firms’ PR needs and using a targeted, strategic approach to achieve ideal results. Need help with raising the reputation of your regional law firm to the national level? Or making sure thought leaders in niche practice areas get their share of the voice in a crowded marketplace? Or with building your law firm’s media reputation from the ground up? Michelle has helped clients achieve these goals by working with each client to craft a customized media plan that will meet its vision of success. This approach to public reputation services makes her an invaluable part of each client’s marketing team.
On behalf of her clients, Michelle conducts successful media relations campaigns for attorneys in practice areas ranging from financial services to energy law and commercial litigation to capital markets. She is creative and resourceful in developing new story ideas and angles to pitch on behalf of her clients, and is constantly cultivating relationships with key reporters and bloggers at the top-tier industry and trade publications her clients want to reach.
Her dedication has landed her clients in such high-profile media as American Lawyer, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, CNBC’s “Closing Bell,” Institutional Investor, the New York Times, Thomson Reuters and the Wall Street Journal.
Michelle came to Jaffe PR from Edelman, a global public relations firm, where she spent several years in New York and Chicago working with law firms and professional services clients on the development and execution of public relations campaigns. She started her career in New York City as a writer/editor for Yeshiva University’s communications department. She also led marketing efforts and special events for a children’s museum in Atlanta.
A member of the Legal Marketing Association, Michelle holds a dual BA degree in English communications/journalism and political science from Yeshiva University in New York.
Entering unfamiliar territory can be intimidating, but, for Michelle, it represents an exciting new challenge. She’s a sponge for knowledge whose inquisitiveness has taken her to the White House, where she served as an intern in President Clinton’s speechwriting department. While there, she saw her diligent research translated into inspiring words that the world would hear.
These days, Michelle uses her love of learning to inform our clients’ strategic public reputation campaigns and raise their visibility in a strategic way. She expertly places bylined articles, crafts media pitches and forges new relationships between attorneys and the reporters covering issues that most affect their business.
When she’s not helping clients up the public reputation curve, Michelle is feeding the insatiable curiosity of her kids in their New York home.
