About Vivian
Vivian provides perceptive PR counsel on litigation PR and crisis matters, gets clients’ bylined articles published in relevant trade publications, secures attorneys as speakers at the right industry events and conferences, helps firms make sense of the oft-dreaded lawyer rankings and lists, and advises on the use of 2.0 media such as social networks and blogs on law firm business development. Vivian gets praise from her clients for being able to translate complex legal issues so that a reporter quickly understands the news potential.
Vivian takes pride in developing long-term relationships with her clients, many of whom she has worked with for a minimum of five to ten years. While some programs rely on immediate results, others depend on long-range planning and recognizing the value of working with someone who fully knows and understands the firm’s culture, philosophies, management style, practices and public reputation in order to manage effective law firm media relations strategies. It’s about finding new opportunities, developing sharp and current strategies, and acting as an integral senior member of a firm’s marketing department.
Before joining Jaffe PR in 1998, Vivian was a public relations consultant who managed spokesperson media tours, arranged press briefings with CEOs and leading industry executives, wrote and designed brochures and newsletters, produced videos, and conducted grassroots research and one-on-one surveys. Earlier in her career, she worked at Ketchum in Washington, D.C., where she worked on award-winning communications programs for Fortune 100 companies, including Dow Chemical and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
Vivian is a founding member of the Jacksonville City Group in the Legal Marketing Association’s Southeastern Chapter, a frequent speaker to legal marketers, and a published author on a range of legal marketing topics. She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland, specializing in public relations and advertising. Vivian is based in Florida.
