To meet the growing needs of the legal industry, Jaffe PR, the leading law firm public reputation agency, is pleased to announce it has added public relations professionals Maria Forrest and Dawn Petrosky, and digital marketing specialist Melanie Trudeau to its staff and is expanding client service offerings with the promotion of Keith Ecker. In addition, the firm has entered into a strategic alliance with Joi F. Scardo, a veteran legal marketing and business development strategist.
“The legal industry is more competitive than ever, which underscores the importance of legal PR and marketing services,” said Melinda Wheeler, the agency’s Managing Director of Operations and Finance. “We are enhancing our abilities with these strategic hires, promotions and partnerships to provide the highest caliber of service to our clients.”
Forrest, who joins as Vice President of Public Reputation Services, is based in Haddonfield, N.J. and Bradenton, Fla. She previously worked at NewsPros where she provided PR services to Am Law 100 firm Reed Smith. She also has served as the director of PR for the Philly Pops and as a PR consultant to New Jersey Senator Diane Allen, and she created and launched the nationally syndicated television feature The Green Grocer®. Forrest holds a BA in economics from George Washington University.
Petrosky, who joins as Vice President of Public Reputation Services, is based in Alexandria, Va. In addition to working as an independent consultant, she previously served as a media relations manager with Am Law 100 firm Squire Sanders in Washington, DC. Before that, Petrosky served as the communications director for the non-profit International Institute for Homeland Security, Defense and Restoration and as a press secretary for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She holds a JD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
“We are thrilled to welcome Maria and Dawn to the Jaffe PR team,” said Vivian Hood, Managing Director of Client Services. “With their senior-level expertise, we look forward to expanding our capabilities, particularly in the Northeastern region of the country.”
Meanwhile, the agency has created two new positions that represent its continued growth into SEO and content marketing services.
Former Jaffe PR Executive Vice President of Marketing and Digital Services, Melanie Trudeau, has rejoined the firm in the newly created position of Digital Strategist. She previously served as the director of search marketing at Blue Tent Marketing. As Jaffe PR’s Digital Strategist, Trudeau will make data-driven decisions to implement, test and optimize Internet marketing tactics encompassing SEO, social and other content marketing strategies. Trudeau is based in Edwards, Colo. and holds a BA in English from Queen’s University.
Jaffe PR consultant Keith Ecker has been promoted to the newly created position of Content Strategist. Based in Chicago, he formerly served as a Vice President of Public Reputation Services. In his new role, Ecker will provide strategic consultation regarding law firm content marketing initiatives – including websites, blogs, social media and newsletters – while managing Jaffe PR’s editorial and marketing content developers. Ecker is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia’s School of Journalism.
“Jaffe PR is always looking ahead to where the market is going,” said Terry M. Isner, Managing Director of Creative, Marketing and Business Development. “With our newly created Digital Strategist and Content Strategist positions, we will be able to provide law firms with the cutting-edge services they need to remain competitive in today’s changing marketplace.”
Legal marketing and business development strategist Scardo will work to enhance and expand Jaffe PR’s clients’ business development and marketing efforts and support the agency’s continued growth. Before her strategic alliance with Jaffe, Scardo served as marketing director for Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP, an AmLaw 200 firm based in the U.S. southeast. Named one of ExecRank’s “Top Marketing Executives in Privately Held Companies” for 2012, Scardo has worked in legal marketing for 23 years. She has held in-house marketing leadership positions with law firms ranging in size from 100 attorneys across three offices to an AmLaw 30 firm with 1000 attorneys across 19 offices. Based in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., she holds a BS in marketing from the University of Virginia.
“As a CMO, I hired Jaffe PR on more than one occasion because of their expertise, thought leadership and unrivaled client service,” said Scardo. “For that same reason, when I decided to become an outside marketing consultant to law firms, I knew I wanted to be associated with the professionals here. There was no other choice, as far as I was concerned.”
