Stimmel and public relations professional Carlos Arcos have joined its national PR team. Stimmel joins as senior vice president, Business Development/Marketing Consultant, while Arcos serves as vice president, Public Reputation Services.

Based in New York City, Stimmel will focus on law firm marketing to support the agency’s continued growth nationwide. Arcos is based in Houston, where he will work to enhance and expand Jaffe PR’s presence in Texas and throughout the nation.

Stimmel has gained extensive experience and diverse knowledge as the chief of marketing and business development and a trusted advisor to management at numerous national and international law and accounting firms. She has served in this pivotal role at the AmLaw200 firms Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP; Blank Rome LLP; Pennie & Edmonds LLP; and Clifford Chance. As a well-known thought leader in the industry, she has garnered recognition for her innovative and trail-blazing approaches to driving firm revenues and engendering brand recognition. Before her in-house career, Stimmel consulted on a broad range of marketing and business development matters with regional law, accounting and financial services firms.

Stimmel began her career in professional services marketing with national accounting firms BDO Seidman, as a principal, and at Ernst & Young, where she created the first regional, integrated marketing and business development department. Previously, she worked as a policy analyst and program manager in the Boston Mayor’s Office and was selected to be an Urban Fellow with the New York City’s Office of the Mayor. She was named the Hubbard One Marketing Professional of the Year Award in 2010 and received Legal Marketing Association (LMA) “Your Honor” awards for her use of social media in law student recruiting and marketing.

In addition, Stimmel formerly served as the LMA New York chapter president, an LMA board member and co-chair of the organization’s CMO/Senior Marketer Shared Interest Group. She was recently called upon to form a Social Media Shared Interest Group for the chapter. Stimmel earned a master’s degree in organizational psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a bachelor of arts, cum laude, in political science from Barnard College, Columbia University.

A former practicing lawyer, Arcos has had a prominent presence for more than a decade in Houston, where he worked for several of the largest advertising and public relations agencies. His work has focused on media relations, community outreach, internal communications, issues management, and media and speaker training for professional service clients such as Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP, CorVirtus Consulting and Medical Clinic of Houston. He has secured high-profile media stories for clients with major outlets, including CNN, NBC’s “Today Show” and ABC’s “Good Morning, America.” Arcos also has worked with top consumer brands such as Imperial Sugar, Mission Tortillas, Daisy Sour Cream, Kroger, Waste Management and CHRISTUS Healthcare.

Arcos’s numerous awards for his public relations work include recognition from the Texas Public Relations Association, Houston chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and Houston Professional Chapter of Women in Communications. Arcos earned his JD from the University of Texas School of Law and also is a graduate of Baylor University.
