Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP and Jaffe PR are pleased to announce that they have been named finalists for the 2013 Legal Marketing Association (LMA) 2013 Your Honor Award in the Promotional/Collateral Materials Announcement category.

The Young Conaway/Jaffe PR team was recognized for Young Conaway’s office move public awareness campaign. According to the LMA, there were more than 200 submissions this year and judges were highly selective in deciding from among the many high-caliber entries.

For Delaware-based Young Conaway, its move from a traditional office building to an iconic courthouse on Rodney Square in the heart of Wilmington was anything but typical. Transforming the nearly 100-year-old structure—which had declined over nine years of vacancy—into 21st-century office space was a mammoth undertaking. Still, the firm knew garnering significant press coverage and raising awareness among clients and prospects would be a challenge. Young Conaway tasked Jaffe PR with making the straightforward office move announcement exciting and with conveying, in a compelling way, the strategic messages of superior client service and commitment to Wilmington’s restoration.

The team decided the most effective tactic would be to tell the story by creatively leveraging an assortment of multimedia, from videos, electronic invitations and custom artwork to classic children’s toys, including a retro View-Master viewer and Etch-A-Sketch. The results were impressive, with coverage of the move appearing in more than 241 legal, business and architectural news outlets, including national coverage in Reuters and MarketWatch and local coverage on the Fox News and NBC television affiliates, and a feature story in Delaware Today, Delaware Business and Delaware Law WeeklyWall Street Journal reporter, Jennifer Smith, traveled from New York to see the space and meet key attorneys to develop them as sources for commentary.

“This was a truly collaborative effort, with Jaffe PR serving as a seamless extension of our marketing team,” said Paul D. Webb, Director of Marketing for Young Conaway. “They understood our business objectives and helped us implement a clear strategy while being mindful of budgets and deadlines. We are thrilled with the results.”
