Why I Love My Job
Bringing my skills to bear on behalf of law firms is validation that my journalism training and work experiences are valuable in meaningful ways outside the newsroom.

Professionally Speaking

A former newspaper reporter and editor, Randy provides law firms with valuable perspectives and smart ideas on how to collaborate strategically with media to gain positive exposure in traditional press and online forums and channels. He draws upon his more than 27 years of communications experience in diverse industries – ranging from legal and financial services to consumer goods to not-for-profits and the arts – to help legal marketers and attorneys think outside the box for creative ways to enhance their reputations or meet critical PR challenges. Having served in management roles at multiple PR firms, Randy has developed a reputation for delivering tangible results for his clients that are altogether timely, efficient, effective and on budget.

Randy is based in Chicago, where he has forged relationships on behalf of his clients with major local, regional and national reporters and editors covering diverse legal and business issues. As a law firm public relations professional, he helps law firms and lawyers leverage their news, successes, knowledge and insights through published stories and commentaries in publications ranging from the Wall Street Journal to the National Law Journal to scores of influential vertical trade publications.

Personally Speaking

Randy’s communications style is enhanced by his innate sense of diplomacy – and even a bit of dry wit – that provides a model for attorneys looking to be more effective and comfortable in a media environment. His professional experiences on both sides of the aisle – both representing and pitching to the media – have helped him to perfect a balanced approach for delivering media results for his clients. Born and raised in Ohio and transplanted to Chicago, he carries that sense of yin and yang throughout his personal life, where he is as much at home at a Chicago Cubs baseball game as he is at a Broadway show.
